Foresight 50 at The Ampersand

We recently had the opportunity to work with Foresight Canada, a non-profit organization that recognizes and showcases the most investible cleantech ventures in Canada who are leading the way to net zero. They booked The Ampersand for a hybrid event that they were organizing for Foresight 50, a program that has a significant impact on the Canadian cleantech ecosystem with honorees raising almost $600M in capital in 2021.

The Ampersand, a modern office complex in downtown Calgary features a stunning plaza with 57,000 square feet of amenities. It has a state-of-the-art conference centre, a fitness facility, a multipurpose court, a library, a tenant lounge, and even indoor food trucks. It also has a social stair, which our clients guests used as a seating area for their presentation.

The event was open to the public and featured a one-minute pitch from each honoree, followed by a networking reception where attendees could connect directly with the innovators. There were about 200 attendees, of which 135 were onsite and 65 were online.

We provided a dedicated audio visual team that helped set up, manage, and troubleshoot a comprehensive audio visual service that included sound and lighting, video and projection, and live streaming through Zoom.

We used the social stair and the in house theatre style screen along with two additional screens to create a dynamic and immersive audio visual experience for everyone. The presenters were able to address both the onsite and the online audiences from a central position with the large glowing ampersand symbol as their backdrop.

We ensured that the sound, lighting, and video quality were optimal for both the onsite and the online audiences, and that there were no technical glitches or delays. We also ensured that the online attendees were able to watch the live stream with ease.

We were very happy with the outcome of the event, and we would like to thank The Ampersand for their excellent venue and support. They made our job as an audio visual partner easier and more enjoyable, and they helped us deliver a successful hybrid event.
