Overview

We run audiovisual for CanWest’s Women’s Show, Taboo Naughty but Nice Sex Show, Baby and Tot, and Cannabis Show. Whether we’re soundtracking a fashion show or setting up light bars for a sexy male revue, we always look forward to assisting CanWest in all they get up to at the BMO Centre.

The Event

It’s always important to reinforce the events branding with a big, busy floor, so we keep sponsor images and other entertainment information on our screens at Taboo. When performers or speakers are on stage, we’re lighting them with our array of LED battens, PAR cans, and movers. 

At The Women’s Show – where there are two stages in flux – our technicians are managing stage talent ranging from musicians to speakers, making sure we have all necessary material or knowledge before their set is on. Communication with stage managers or event staff is always a priority, but especially when we’re mixing a show and the timeline is tight.

Outcome

Regardless of how much is happening, our techs have a great time with CanWest and keep things light when the mood is right while working hard when the show is on. In return, CanWest gets a fun and professional atmosphere that matches their great productions.
