This year at the Edmonton Radisson hotel we provided audio-visual services for ATRA, the annual Alberta Therapeutic Recreation symposium.
We set up two 6’x8′ Fast-Fold rear projection screens, sound, stage wash lighting, laptop, Targus and a live stream for the main presentation area as well as presentation packages for two breakout rooms.
The main challenge we faced was that the event was three hours away in Edmonton and we had a limitation accessing the hotel due to another event so set up would have to begin at 2AM in the morning for a 7AM show start. No problem.
After checking and double checking our equipment pack sheet we hopped in the van at 10:30pm and drove out from Calgary.
The hotel was quiet which made for a relaxing set up and we had everything tested and ready to go by 4:30am. A quick nap and we would be up and at it ready to go for show.
It’s all about the show. When people experience the event they don’t care about or need to know our back story. The equipment needs to be working as expected and the staff need to be alert for any call to action. It’s what we do.
