Brentwood Music on the Plaza 2012

Today I mixed for a very talented band called Jasu, a funk infused jazz trio.
They were performing at a small plaza just off of Northland Dr N.W. where the City has been putting on weekly performances between 2 and 3pm every Sunday, for the past few weeks, in an attempt to bring the community together.

I had no idea that the City of Calgary employed staff to promote community initiatives like this. What a great idea to encourage neighborly interactions within the community.
There are community gardening initiatives, interactive mural creations and more.

Kudos to the city in their recognition that “knowing your neighbor” can decrease crime and solidify our City’s foundation.
